Stationary of Horror

On April 15, 2010, in art, by Mers

I really love this stationary created by Jacques Pense and an advertising agency called Jung von Matt from AG, Germany. Those Germans know how to do zombies. It’s not just creepy and gross, it’s also very clever. The binder one and the envelope are 2 of my favorites. See for yourself!

PP&Z: Dawn of the Dreadfuls Book Trailer

Dawn of the Dreadfuls

Dawn of the Dreadfuls

I posted about this book awhile ago when it just came out. Recently I came upon this trailer for the book. It’s worth watching even if you aren’t planning to read the book. My favorite part is when it shows the ninja star that is obviously made out of tin foil. This trailer is pure awesomeness.

Boomer Zombie

Boomer Zombie

Boomer Zombie

The Boomer zombie is one of the most disgusting of zombies. I would avoid this zombie at all costs. He can throw up on you from a distance and he may explode if you shoot him so be careful. He is full of methane gas. Your best bet with him is to run or to shoot him from a safe distance. Watch out for his projectile vomit as it is very acidic and can do damage to you. If it gets in your eyes it will greatly blur your vision. He is a slow zombie and not very strong but his size gives him strength and his ability to produce vast amounts of methane gas makes him very flammable and gross. Use caution around open flames.

Danger Rating: Gross

Transmission from Zero

Transmission from Zero

This is for those zombie readers out there who aren’t so interested in regency England. The book is NOT intended for the faint of heart. There is lots of bloody, gruesome action in this one. I went on the website and they let you preview the first few pages on there.  I read them and it seems pretty awesome to me so check it out!

Dawn of the Dreadfuls

Dawn of the Dreadfuls

Imagine attending a funeral only to find the deceased sitting up in his coffin. This is just the beginning for the people of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls. Written by Steve Hockensmith, this book is a prequel to the quite popular Pride and Prejudice and Zombies novel. It goes through Elizabeth Bennets teen years and how she learns to become a zombie slayer. If you are a fan of zombies and romance then this is definitely one you should check out. The books publish date is March 23, 2010. Their will be a contest by the publishers, Quirk Classics. If you would like to check it out follow this link:  Contest at quirkclassics.com.

Here is a link to the book: Dawn of the Dreadfuls book at quirkclassics.com

I also found out Pride and Prejudice and Zombies  has a Facebook fan page and though you might be interested in joining : http://www.facebook.com/PrideandPrejudiceandZombies

Monsterpalooza 2010

On March 1, 2010, in art, by Mers

Monsterpalooza 2010

Three days of monster mayhem will be taking place in Burbank, California April 9-11. Yes, that’s right, Monsterpalooza! Basically it is a huge festival with vendors and exhibits. There will be a multitude of special effects artists, make-up artists, comic book artists, actors, and designers attending. What made me perk my ears up about this one is that there will be a special presentation this year where actors and artists from the Return of the Living Dead will be discussing the making of the movie. This  presentation will be followed by a viewing of the film. This is an awesome movie and a cult classic. I remember this movie scaring me so bad, especially the first zombie in the beginning. The half dog thing also weirded me out a lot. So it may be worth it to head down to Burbank and explore the horrifying art of the monster.

Zombie Combat Manual

This manual looks rather interesting because it will teach you how to fight against the living dead and give you tips on what to look out for, how to move, etc. It will even go over certain exercises that will help you keep fit in order to be ready for a zombie attack. I agree that it is important to stay fit, especially in case of a zombie epidemic. Just imagine if there is an outbreak and you’re not at home. You can’t always have your shotgun arsenal nearby. What other weapon can you just pick up and use? What kind of weapons are most effective and what if there is no weapon nearby? What kind of attacks will work against a zombie? Do NOT rely on your Karate or Tae Kwon Do. We all know you are no Chuck Norris. Plus, moves that work against a human will not necessarily work against a zombie. For one, a zombie can’t feel pain and you can’t stun a zombie. Also, even if you are able to dismember one they will not stop coming after you. This combat manual will not be released until April 6, 2010 but you can still pre-order it from Amazon if you’d like.
