This has got to be the coolest zombie event I’ve heard of thus far. Not only do you get to dress up as a zombie and parade around Los Angeles on a night other than Halloween, you get to see awesome zombie art! A perfect Pre-Valentines day activity!
The opening reception on February 6th starts with a zombie walk, which involves dressing up and acting (for some of us) like a zombie all through the city. Love it! Then ends up at a huge art show at Nucleus Gallery. This art event gathers some of the most recognized names in the zombie industry as well as fellow zombie enthusiasts.
Free prizes, free refreshments, free admission (for those dressed as zombies, otherwise $2 bucks. So its either this event or a bottle of Charles Shaw. hmmm…), live music and book signing are in store for you at this monstrous gathering. Event runs Feb 6-22, more details at gallerynucleus.com. So go and get your zombie on, and bring a zombie lovin date!

Zombies are a bigger influence that you might think and are even on the minds of scientists. I heard an interesting podcast on NPR about Canadian mathematicians who were trying to predict how epidemics spread by using zombies in their model. Nice. You can read about it here http://www.scpr.org/programs/loh-down-on-science/2010/01/04/zombie-science/.
Interesting out come, those crazy Canadians! Oh no offense, I mean “crazy” in a good way. I love Canada. Throw another shrimp on the bahbie, eh.
Zombie Meredith wanted to buy some brain flavored zombie mints for a Christmas present (How thoughtful!) but was wondering what brain flavored zombie mints actually tasted like. Just so happens our friend Bacon Chris had just purchased some and let us try them. Zombie Meredith and Bacon Chris popped the bfzm’s in their mouths and they were out just as fast as they were in. Then spitting and gagging noises ensued. They thought they were disgusting. Bacon Chris went so far as to offer his coveted bacon chocolate to get rid of the foul taste. This made me think twice about trying them but I thought this might be the only chance I get to experience “brain flavor”. So I reluctantly placed mine in my mouth, ready for the terror. But to my astonishment, they weren’t half bad. Kinda creamy, kinda sweet with a dash of rotten flesh. They were amazed that I didn’t spit mine out. I was amazed that they actually tasted like brains! How did they do that? Zombie Meredith said maybe I’m a real zombie. I don’t know, I sometimes feel half dead at work. Maybe… I recommend getting these as a party gag (literally) or to test which one of your friends is a real zombie.
